During a solemn ceremony in the presence of the President of Ukraine, the Chairman of the High Council of Justice, the President of the Supreme Court, the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine and the Head of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, the newly appointed judges took the oath and assumed their powers.

Three of them are judges of local general courts, two of local economic courts, five of courts of appeal, eight of economic courts of appeal, and four of administrative courts of appeal.

The oath was taken by judges from different regions of Ukraine: three each from the Kyiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions; two each from the Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Lviv, and Rivne regions; and one each from the Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Poltava regions.

Taking the oath is one of the mandatory requirements for assuming the office of judge. A judge may only administer justice after taking the oath, being appointed to the court and completing initial training.
