President
Filippo Donati
Dear Mr. President,
The High Council of Justice presents its compliments to the European Network of Council for the Judiciary (ENCJ) and addresses with following.
Ukrainian citizens have been waging war on their territory against one of the largest armies in the world for the five days in a row.
The Russian Federation is killing peaceful Ukrainian citizens, ruining peaceful Ukrainian cities and villages and destroying critical infrastructure.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine defend the lives of each of us, sometimes at the cost of their own lives. Kyiv and Kharkiv, Odesa and Mariupol, Sumy and Cherkasy - our soldiers are defending every piece of Ukrainian land.
We appeal to the ENCJ as an international non-profit-association which consists of national institutions in the member states of the European Union.
Today, more than ever, each of the ENCJ’s members can save the lives of millions of Ukrainians: talk to the governments of their countries, request stronger sanctions against the Russian Federation, request military and humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Fight for us! Fight with us! And together we will have a chance to save the civilized world, to save millions of lives, to save the right of each country to choose its own path and future.
We kindly ask you to post a message on the ENCJ’s official website with the demand to the Russian Federation to stop immediately the war.
Please address the ENCJ’s members with request to support Ukraine.
We need the following:
1. Weapons and equipment for our military.
2. Humanitarian aid for our civilian population.
3."Closing up" the sky over Ukraine.
4. Economic assistance to Ukraine.
5. Strengthening personal sanctions against the top leadership of the Russian Federation, Belarus and economic sanctions against both the top leadership of the Russian Federation, Belarus, and for Russian business - contributors to the Putin regime.
Without these actions, it is impossible to stop deaths among the military and civilians, or unprecedented violations of human and civil rights and freedoms in our country.
Each of us can help Ukraine: if possible, help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The National Bank has opened a special account to raise funds for the army. You can find account details at the link: https://bank.gov.ua/.../natsionalniy-bank-vidkriv...
Every minute Ukraine pays a very high price for its freedom and for the choice to be together with the European countries and the civilized world.
We believe in the solidarity of our European partners with the democratic choice of the Ukrainian people, its heroic struggle for independence and the establishment of universal humanistic values.
Glory to our warriors! Glory to Ukraine!
Yours faithfully,
Viktor Hryshchuk
Acting Chairman of the High Council of Justice
