14 judges were resigned

On April 1, 2025 the HCJ decided to dismiss Bachun Oleh Volodymyrovych from the office of a judge of the Circuit administrative court of Kyiv due to filling application for resignation.

On April 3, 2025 the HCJ took decision on dismissal of seven judges due to filling applications for resignation, namely:

  • Smorodinova Olha Hryhoriivna – from the office of a judge of the Economic court of Mykolaiv region;
  • Semeniuk Valentyna Vasylivnaу – from the office of a judge of the Kamianets-Podilskyi local-district court of Khmelnytskyi region.

On April 8, 2025, the HCJ took decision on dismissal of four judges due to filling applications for resignation, namely:

  • Kudriavtseva Tetiana Oleksandrivna – from the office of a judge of the Babushkinskyi district court of the city of Dnipropetrovsk;
  • Dmytriuk Oksana Viktorivna – from the office of a judge of the Shevchenkivskyi district court of Zaporizhzhia;
  • Zaika Mykola Mykolaiovych – from the office of a judge of the Sixth administrative court of appeal;
  • Vernik Volodymyr Mykhailovych – from the office of a judge of the Zhmerynskyi local-district court of Vinnytsia region.

On April 10, 2025 the HCJ decided to dismiss due to filling applications for resignation:

  • Matiichuk Halyna Oleksandrivna – from the office of a judge of the Pecherskyi district court of Kyiv;
  • Horiachkivska Liudmyla Volodymyrivna – from the office of a judge of the Umanskyi local-district court of Cherkasy region;
  • Mazuryk Olena Fedorivna – from the office of a judge of the Kyivskyi court of appeal;
  • Shymchyk Roman Vasylovych – from the office of a judge of the Zhashkivskyi district court of Cherkasy region;
  • Shulha Oksana Mykolaivna – from the office of a judge of the Korostenskyi local-district court of Zhytomyr region;
  • Kryvosheia Svitlana Ctanislavivna – from the office of a judge of the Pershetravenskyi local court of Dnipropetrovsk region;
  • Milanich Antonina Mykolaivna – from the office of a judge of the Borodianskyi district court of Kyiv region.

 HCJ dismissed four judges for committing a significant disciplinary offence

The HCJ took decision on dismissal under paragraph 3, Part 6 of Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine of:

HCJ temporarily suspended judge of the Novoselytskyi district court of Chernivtsi region from the administration of justice

On April 1, 2025 the HCJ decided temporarily suspend, for a period of six months, judge of the Novoselytskyi district court of Chernivtsi region from the administration of justice with deprivation of the right to receive supplemental payments to the basic wage of a judge and compulsory assignment of the judge to the National School of Judges of Ukraine for advance qualification course on judicial ethics and integrity, and further qualification assessment to confirm the judge's ability to administer justice in the relevant court.

Judge Serhii Burkhan was temporarily suspended from the administration of justice based on the decision of the Second Disciplinary Chamber of the HCJ

Judge of the Verkhnedniprovskyi district court of Dnipropetrovsk region Burkhan Serhii Mykhailovych was temporarily suspended from the administration of justice based on the decision of the Second Disciplinary Chamber of the HCJ.

The decision to bring the judge to disciplinary liability and impose a disciplinary sanction in the form of submission for dismissal from office was made by the Second Disciplinary Chamber of the HCJ on April 2, 2025.

HCJ dismissed three judges, who were found unsuitable for the positions held based on the results of qualification evaluation

The HCJ took decision to dismiss under subparagraph 4 of paragraph 16¹ of Section XV “Transitional Provisions” of the Constitution of Ukraine:

Activity of the HCJ Secretariat in figures for the first quarter of 2025

1500 appeals from citizens and 208 requests for information were processed by employees of the Secretariat of the High Council of Justice during January – March of 2025; 593 appeals from citizens were received to the HCJ hotline at the telephone number: (044) 481-06-26. There were also 2429 cover letters on sending copies of the acts of the HCJ and its bodies prepared by employees of the Secretariat of the Council; 3277 copies of the acts of the HCJ, its bodies and members of the HCJ were issued, 6307 pages of draft documents of the HCJ were edited.

During the first three months of 2025, 2121 acts of the HCJ, 649 other documents and 172 news items and announcements were published on the official website of the High Council of Justice; 373 information materials were published on social media pages of the HCJ. About 700 information materials were published in the “News” section of the “Judiciary of Ukraine” portal.

Oleksandr Sasevych was elected the Secretary of the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the HCJ

On 10 April 2025, the High Council of Justice decided to elect the HCJ member Sasevych Oleksandr Mykhailovych as the Secretary of the Third Disciplinary Chamber of the HCJ.
