Judge of the Horokhivskyi district court of Volyn region resigned

On January 18, 2022, the HCJ decided to dismiss due to the submission of application for resignation Adamchuk Halyna Mykolaivna from the position of judge of the Horokhovskyi district court of Volyn region.

Term for granting judges’ consent on secondment to two courts has been extended

The HCJ, according to the decision of January 13, 2022, No. 42/0/15-22 and the decision of January 18, 2022, No. 59/0/15-22  extended the term for granting judges’ consent for being seconded to the Ustynivskyi district court of Kirovohrad region till January 24, 2022, and to the Tsentralno-Miskyi district court of Kryvyi Rih of Dnipropetrovsk region till January 27, 2022.

Judges who expressed the wish to be seconded to mentioned courts must submit to the HCJ necessary documents.

HCJ addressed the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Court Security Service on circumstances, stated in notification of judge of the Irpin city court of Kyiv region

The judge of the Irpin city court of Kyiv region Yana Shestopalova notified the HCJ of interference in her activity as a judge concerning administering justice. The judge also addressed the Prosecutor General’s Office and Bucha circuit prosecutor’s office of Kyiv region with the notification on committing criminal offenses, provided by Articles 376, 377 of the CC of Ukraine.

Selection commission for selection of candidates for positions of members of the HQCJU starts its official work 

On January 21, 2022, the Selection commission for selection of candidates for positions of members of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine has started its official work.

The Selection commission was established as an advisory body of the HCJ for holding a competition on selection and forming a list of candidates who will be appointed by the High Council of Justice as members of the HQCJU. Preparatory work for provision of the start of the official activity on holding a competitive selection the Selection commission has started on November 19, 2021.

On January 26, 2022, powers of two HCJ members will be terminated

The HCJ made a decision on the dismissal of Oleksii Malovatskyi and Pavlo Grechkivskyi from the position of the member of the High Council of Justice by their own will from January 26, 2022. 

Since August 2019 Pavlo Grechkivskyi has been the member of the Commission on senior civil service in the justice system. 

Oleksii Malovatskyi in January, 2020 was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the HCJ. Since March 2021 Oleksii Malovatskyi has been acting as the Chairman of the HCJ.

For the first time in 8 years a court in Avdiivka has restored justice

Since January 20, 2022, the work of the Avdiivskyi city court of Donetsk region has been restored after forced almost eight-year break caused by active hostilities in the east of the country.

By the initiative of the Acting Chairman of the HCJ Oleksii Malovatskyi, the Council made a decision on secondment a judge Serhii Pronin to the Avdiivskyi court in Donetsk region for a period of one year from January 20, 2022. As a result, justice will be restored in a court that has not been operating since 2014.
