Dmytro Lukianov was elected a member of the High Council of Justice from the Congress of scholars

At the Congress of representatives of higher education and research institutions in the area of law that continued its work on August 19, 2022, Lukianov Dmytro Vasyliovych was elected to the position of a member of the High Council of Justice

The Congress began its work as far back as on December 10, 2021.

However, since the conclusion on each candidate and the list of candidates recommended by the Ethics Council for election to the position of the HCJ member were not received as of the beginning of the Congress, a break in its work was announced.

Lukianov Dmytro Vasyliovych – Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor, Head of department of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.

According to the Law of Ukraine “On the High Council of Justice”, the Congress of representatives of higher education and research institutions in the area of law shall elect two members of the HCJ.

As it was reported in the Organizing Committee of the Congress, none of the decisions during the consideration of the recommendation of the Ethics Council regarding Viktor Hryshchuk received the required number of votes.

On May 7, 2022, the Ethics Council found that he did not meet the criteria of professional ethics and integrity and removed from office the HCJ member Viktor Hryshchuk, who was also elected by the Congress of representatives of higher education and research institutions in the area of law in 2019.
