During January-October 2023, the HCJ took 11 decisions on giving consent to take judges into custody

During January-October of 2023 the High Council of Justice took 11 decisions to give consent for taking judge into custody and 14 decisions to satisfy petitions of the Prosecutor General`s Office on temporary suspension and extension of the term of temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice until the court sentence enters into force or the criminal proceedings are closed, and 6 decisions to partially satisfy the said petitions.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the HCJ has received 12 motions on giving consent to take a judge in custody. By results of consideration of the motion, which was received on June 21, 2022, 1 decision was taken to return the motion on giving consent to take judge in custody and 1 decision on refusal to satisfy motion on giving consent to take a judge in custody.

During this period, the HCJ also received 24 petitions from the Prosecutor General`s Office on temporary suspension and extension of the term of temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice in connection with bringing a judge to criminal responsibility:

17 petitions for the temporary suspension from the administration of justice in connection with bringing a judge to criminal responsibility;

7 petitions to extend the term of temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice.

By results of consideration of the said petitions the High Council of Justice took:

14 decisions to satisfy petitions of the Prosecutor General`s Office on temporary suspension and extension of the term of temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice until the court sentence enters into force or the criminal proceedings are closed;

6 decisions to partially satisfy petitions of the Prosecutor General`s Office on the temporary suspension and extension of the term of temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice in connection with bringing a judge to criminal responsibility;  

decision on refusal to satisfy petition of the Prosecutor General`s Office on the temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice;

3 decisions to return without consideration petition of the Prosecutor General`s Office on the temporary suspension of a judge from the administration of justice in connection with bringing a judge to criminal responsibility.
