On December 10, 2024, the High Council of Justice made a decision “On the starting of work of the Service of Disciplinary Inspectors of the High Council of Justice”. December 23, 2024 is set as the date of commencement of the service of disciplinary inspectors of the High Council of Justice.
The Service of Disciplinary Inspectors is established to exercise the powers of the High Council of Justice to conduct disciplinary proceedings against judges. It is composed of disciplinary inspectors of the High Council of Justice, the Head of the Service, his/her deputy and employees who provide organizational support to the Service.
In accordance with parts one, two, five of Article 291 of the Law of Ukraine “On the High Council of Justice”, the service of disciplinary inspectors is an independent structural unit within the Secretariat of the High Council of Justice.
The competition commission for holding the competition for the position of the Head of the Service of Disciplinary Inspectors and his/her deputy, a disciplinary inspector, was established by the decision of the HCJ of December 7, 2023. The competition for the positions in the SDI was announced by the HCJ on December 19, 2023.
By the decision of March 21, 2024, a Service of Disciplinary Inspectors of the High Council of Justice was established as part of the Council's Secretariat.
On November 28, 2024, the High Council of Justice, by the results of interviews with the winners of the competition, decided to appoint the Deputy Head of the Service of Disciplinary Inspectors of the High Council of Justice and 21 disciplinary inspectors of the High Council of Justice.
