The HCJ demonstrated constructive position in the coordination of the draft State Anti-Corruption Program

03.02.2023

This was emphasized by the member of the High Council of Justice Oleksandr Sasevych, commenting on the submission of the revised draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On approval of the State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025” by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention to the government.

Based on the results of intensive consultations and meetings, the draft State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025 took into account the High Council of Justice position.

According to Oleksandr Sasevych, cooperation between the bodies in preparing the basic documents that determine the vector of the country's development for the next years is of decisive importance.

In his point of view, the HCJ, together with all participants in the development of the draft, has taken a responsible step, contributing to Ukraine's approach to membership in the European Union.

Oleksandr Sasevych named it significant that the consistent position of the High Council of Justice on improving the draft State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025 was enshrined in the first decision adopted by the Council after the resumption of its work in the constitutional composition in January 2023.

“The HCJ has common aspirations and goal with the National Agency on Corruption Prevention – to eliminate corruption risks in the judiciary, the assertion of the authority of the judiciary and the fulfilment of Ukraine's international obligations. During the coordination of the draft State Anti-Corruption Program for 2023-2025, the members of the Council were guided by the need to strike a balance between the introduction of anti-corruption mechanisms and the provision of real guarantees for the independence of the judiciary and judges,” Oleksandr Sasevych emphasized.
