High Council of Justice is plenipotentiary and continues its work

As it was already informed, today is the last day of functioning of the High Council of Justice in the composition of 17 members.

By their own will, on January 26, 2022, Oleksii Malovatskyi and Pavlo Grechkivskyi were dismissed from positions of members of the High Council of Justice by the decision of the High Council of Justice.

So, since tomorrow, the High Council of Justice will function in the composition of 15 members, which, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, allows the Council to realize determined by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine powers.

The Constitution of Ukraine determined general conditions, according to which, the High Council of Justice is a plenipotentiary, namely: availability of at least fifteen its elected (appointed) members, among whom the majority are judges (Article 131 of the Constitution).

Compliance with these conditions is necessary and enough to recognize the High Council of Justice as competent.
