
As informed the member of the High Council of Justice, judge of the Lutsk city district court Inna Plakhtii, colleagues-judges and court employees from different regions of the Republic of Poland actively joined to gathering and providing humanitarian aid for the needs of military and civilians in Ukraine.
According to Inna Plakhtii, in particular, medicine for adults and children, medical dressing, groceries, infant food and goods for little Ukrainians, disinfectants and hygiene products, clothes, household items and others arrived. Received aid is being distributed, transferred to volunteers and benefactors, and directed to different Ukrainian regions.
“We thank heartily to polish colleagues for involvement and support in such hard times for our country! It is very important for us your friendly position and real help”, - noted HCJ member.
Also, judges of the Republic of Poland joined to establishing and functioning near Liublin city of a volunteer point for assisting children and women who arrive from Ukraine.
As we informed, the Acting Chairman of the High Council of Justice Viktor Hryshchuk held a number of consultations regarding assistance to our country.
In particular, during telephone conversations with the First President of the Supreme Court, Head of the State Tribunal of the Republic of Poland, professor Małgorzata Manowska and judge of this Court professor Krzysztof Wiak discussed assistance of our international partners in forming humanitarian convoys to Ukraine, the need in bringing true information about a critical situation, caused by military aggression.
Apart from this, in response to the appeal of the Acting Chairman of the HCJ Viktor Hryshchuk, the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union and the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary noted in their declaration that resolutely condemn the severe breach of the international law and aggressive act of war, committed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic and the Superior Council of Magistracy of the Republic of Moldova also expressed support to Ukrainian people and the High Council of Justice. The Permanent Commission of the Spanish General Council for the Judiciary, the National Judicial Council of Hungary and the Judicial Council of Latvia condemned the military intrusion to Ukraine, committed with the severe breach of norms of international law, contrary to fundamental human rights and expressed their support for judges, the legal community and the people of Ukraine.
Judicial Initiative for Open Judiciary (ZOJ) also expressed support to Ukrainian judges and noted the readiness to provide maximum assistance in the struggle for the rule of law in Ukraine. Representatives of the Association informed that they will initiate assistance and support on the platform of the European Association of Judges to develop all available activities with the aim of bringing an end to the war and restoring the proper functioning of the judiciary in Ukraine.
