After the official meeting, a press conference for journalists "Completion of the competition to the new HQCJ as an important component of judicial reform" will be held on March 15 at 12:30 pm.

Accreditation of media representatives to participate in the press conference, which will be held on the Zoom platform, is mandatory and is available until 18.00 on March 14, 2023 by the link. Accredited media will receive information on the details of participation at the appropriate address.

As a reminder, the continuation of judicial reform is an important component of Ukraine's accession to the European Union. Even in the face of military aggression, Ukraine is doing everything possible to ensure the formation of an important judicial institution responsible for staffing the courts of Ukraine - the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. Currently, about 2,000 judgeships across Ukraine remain vacant, qualification assessments of current judges are not being conducted, courts are not being staffed with new personnel, and the competition procedures that have been launched are blocked. To resume the work of the HQCJ, a Selection Commission was established, which started on February 4, 2022, and resumed the competition for the positions of HQCJ members on July 15, 2022, due to Russian aggression.  The competition was participated by 301 legal professionals with higher legal education and at least 15 years of professional experience in the field of law.
